14/11/2011 - Who needs a new lawnmower ?

What were you doing in 1967? That’s when Robert Dick from Culleybackey bought his current Massport lawnmower from Millar Cameron’s in Ballymena.

He thought he got a good deal,(£69 reduced to £65), he just didn’t realise how good a deal!

Robert says he likes to look after his machinery (as engineering is his hobby) but this is a bit extreme. When his original grass box rusted away with age he build an aluminium one.

Robert was at pains to stress that the machine (built in New Zealand) still starts first time.

“Nothing ever goes done when I’m around” says Robert “I’m still on my first wife and maybe I know the lawnmower better than I know her” he joked.
